University of North Florida's Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Announces TauruSeer in first cohort

Aug 23, 2019
JACKSONVILLE – August 24, 2019 – Tauruseer, a cloud-native application security focused startup that offers a SaaS platform to make governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) processes easier for DevSecOps, will be part of the first Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation cohort at the University of North Florida.

With Tauruseer's real-time, actionable insights, SecOps, DevOps, Engineering, and GRC leaders and executives can see and be aware of the highest-risk opportunities that affect the products they depend on so they can fix them quickly.

More than 100 businesses tried to get into the program. They were chosen by a group of people led by the center's director, Karen Bowling. Downtown, at 112 W. Adams St., at The Barnett, there is a center that helps new business owners grow over the course of a year.

"Cybersecurity is a big focus right now, which means that a lot of people are working on symptoms and compliance check boxes instead of solving systemic operational problems. This leads to the next wave of security, which will be focused on software supply chain security.  This is why we made Tauruseer," says Jeremy Vaughan, CEO and Co-Founder of Tauruseer.

"We're excited to be a part of the program with such a great group of innovative companies from Jacksonville. UNF's mentorship, coworking space, interns, and help with business development from staff, advisers, mentors, and their networks are worth a lot. With their help, we'll move faster toward our goal of helping organizations build cloud-native applications and products that are secure, compliant, and high-performing," says Jeremy.

After a process and contest in which the companies pitched their products to a panel of experts in entrepreneurship, the program started in August 2019.

The cloud-based Tauruseer platform shows stakeholders technology risks and steps to fix them. It integrates with DevOps tools like GitHub and Bitbucket, and open source testing tools like Sonarqube and OWASPZap. It can also integrate with commercial vulnerability testing tools and can be set up in less than an hour. Something that every business needs these days to achieve fast ROI.
